Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 October 2026. By using Anchor you agree to the terms below.

1. Your account and age requirements

Anchor is run by Andrei Schiller-Chan, trading as Anchor Grappling ("Anchor", "we", "us"). You are responsible for the content you post and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old to create an Anchor account, wherever you live. Didit checks your age when you sign up.

You must be 18 or older to upload or link videos on Anchor. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 16 to register. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will delete it and its data.

Identity verification

New members must complete an identity and age check before using Anchor. Anchor requests the check and Didit runs it for us as our data processor. Before the check starts we ask for your separate, explicit consent to process your ID document, selfie and face scan, and we keep a record of that consent. The check is also covered by Didit's End User Terms for Identity Verification and Verification Privacy Notice. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. See our Privacy Notice for details.

2. Community standards

Anchor is a training space. Coach hard, disagree respectfully, and keep the room welcoming to practitioners of every belt, gender, and background.

3. Child protection

Many of us train alongside kids and teenagers. Keeping them safe comes first. Anchor follows child protection law in the UK and the USA, including the UK Online Safety Act 2023, the UK Protection of Children Act 1978, COPPA, and US federal law on child exploitation (18 U.S.C. ยง 2258A).

  • Uploads are for adults. Only members aged 18 or older may upload or link videos.
  • Footage of minors needs guardian consent. You may only post footage showing anyone under 18 if you have written consent from their parent or legal guardian. Academy owners and coaches posting class or competition footage must hold that consent for every minor shown.
  • Guardians can have footage removed. A parent or guardian can ask us to remove any video showing their child. We take it down as soon as the request is received, while we check it.
  • No contact that puts minors at risk. Grooming, sexual comments, requests for private contact, or sharing a minor's personal details (such as school or address) lead to an immediate ban.
  • We report to the authorities. Any content that sexualises or exploits a child is removed, the account is banned, records are kept, and it is reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the USA, the Internet Watch Foundation and police in the UK, or other relevant authorities.

To report a concern about a child's safety, or to request removal as a parent or guardian, contact anchor.grappling@gmail.com. Child safety reports are handled first. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police (999 in the UK, 911 in the USA).

4. Zero-Tolerance Media Policy

Anchor enforces a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate, unsafe, or non-consensual video uploads. Any video that is reported or detected as violating this policy will be handled as follows:

  • Immediate removal of the media from all public surfaces the moment it is flagged for review.
  • Immediate ban of the uploading account, without prior warning, once a violation is confirmed.
  • Immediate reporting to the appropriate authorities when the content involves minors, sexual content, real-world violence outside of consensual training, or any other unlawful activity.
  • Preservation of the necessary records to support any subsequent investigation.

Violations include, but are not limited to: footage uploaded without the consent of every identifiable participant, footage of minors without written parent or guardian consent, footage of unsafe or coerced training, sexually explicit content, hateful conduct, and doxxing.

To report a video, use the report control on the video page or contact anchor.grappling@gmail.com. Reports are triaged within 24 hours.

5. Your content and our licence

You keep ownership of everything you post on Anchor: videos, annotations, forks, comments and journal entries.

You must have consent from everyone in your video. Each time you upload or link a video, you confirm that every identifiable person in it has agreed to it being posted on Anchor. For anyone under 18, that means written consent from their parent or guardian. You must be able to show this consent if we ask. If someone in your video withdraws consent, you must remove it, and they can ask us to remove it too.

Linked videos. Instead of uploading a file, you can link a video you have the right to share (for example your own YouTube video). Linked videos are never downloaded or copied by Anchor; they play through the original platform's official player and stay subject to that platform's terms. The same consent rules above apply to everyone identifiable in a linked video, and we can remove a link at any time under these Terms.

By posting, you give Anchor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transcode, make thumbnails from, index for search, run through our AI safety and moderation pipeline, and show your content as part of the service. Our service providers may do the same on our behalf, only to run Anchor.

Annotations, forks and comments you add to someone else's video are yours too. You give Anchor the same licence, and let other members see, vote on and respond to them inside Anchor.

The licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We may keep copies where the law requires it, for safety and moderation records, and where other members have already built on your content (for example forks on your video), which may stay visible without your details.

5a. Your promises about content

  • You own the footage you post, or have permission to post it, including from everyone who can be identified in it.
  • You will not post paid instructionals, pay-per-view or broadcast footage, or copyrighted music unless you hold the rights.
  • You are responsible for what you post. If a claim is made against Anchor because these promises were untrue, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, as far as the law allows.

5c. Anchor's own property

The Anchor name, logo, artwork, design and software belong to Anchor. You may not copy, reuse or imitate them without our written permission.

5d. Links to other sites

Forks and annotations can link to other websites. We do not control or endorse those sites and are not responsible for their content.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially the Zero-Tolerance Media Policy and copyright rules above. You may delete your account at any time from your profile.

7. Liability and disputes

Anchor is provided "as is". Training advice shared by members is their opinion, not professional instruction. Train safely and within your ability.

As far as the law allows, Anchor is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content posted by members. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, including the US, you keep any protections your local consumer law gives you. Questions: anchor.grappling@gmail.com.
